I'd like to write a poem or prose so nice
The ones that ooze with good advice
The types full of wisdom and truth
The ones that can calm and soothe

Or maybe a verse full of wit
That'll make readers go "That's neat!"
But all I can come up with is this lousy thing
About the things I keep wishing

I should come to terms with it
I really can't write for shit
DAMMIT!

I was clearing up some stuff in my room and I found my old Lit notes! I love lit! And some of my poems. Some were really spastic but I was surprised I could write some pretty decent ones too. Wow, I can't do that anymore, what's wrong with me?

Sorry-A Ballad

A young man storms out of his house
Inside he leaves a crying spouse
She didn't mean what she said she did
But just couldn't bring herself to say sorry
He leapt into his car and sped away fast
That's when she saw him last

What a difference she would have made
If that word had been said
Maybe he'd stop and turn his head
'Sorry' would have changed fate

A pretty girl, only 17
Been to some party where she shouldn't have been
Her father said some nasty things
Blinded by tears, she runs out crying
He was guilty but 'Sorry' he couldn't say
Because pride got in his way

What a difference he would have made
If that word had been said
Maybe she's stop and turn her head
'Sorry' would have changed fate

Blinded by anger and pain
Both rush headlong in the falling rain
He hits her at full speed
Before crashing into a tree
Sirens sound in the night
For their lives, they had to fight

The regretful wife cries
The parents have tears in their eyes
'Sorry,' they heard the doctors say
'Sorry' changed their lives that day

I admit, it's pretty lame at some points. But I was inspired by Garth Brooks kind of songs. I think it'd make a kind of cool country song in fact. Haha...*SpASTiC*
